Summer Reading Camps For ages: 5-10 Homeschool Resource Center 307 S. Parsons Ave. Brandon, 33511 Monday, June 24th – Thursday, June 27th (9am to noon) (beginning readers K-2) This reading camp is designed for young learners to work on their skills in phonemic awareness, basic phonics, and reading comprehension. Through engaging activities, students will work on letter-sound relationships and deepen their understanding of texts. There will be systematic, explicit instruction; guided readings; and interactive games. Join us for an enriching experience that will instill confidence in reading! Monday, July 15th – Thursday, July 18th (9am to noon) (Grades 3-5) This reading camp is designed for intermediate readers to strengthen their skills in phonics, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Through engaging activities, students will work on advanced phonics skills, vocabulary, and deepen their comprehension of texts. There will be systematic, explicit instruction; guided readings; and interactive games. Join us for a literacy adventure that will instill confidence and love of reading! Teacher Bio: Wendy Liller currently holds a Florida Professional Teaching certificate and received a Master of Arts in Education degree with a concentration in special education from the University of Washington. She has worked as a classroom teacher, a homeschool teacher/tutor, and a reading therapist and, combined, has over 12 years’ of experience in these fields.
