Tampa Bay HEAT Summer Volleyball Camps

for Boys and Girls!

 

July 17th-21st (Monday-Friday)

 

New Hope United Methodist Church

213 N Knights Ave, Brandon, FL 33510

 

Camp is open to boys and girls age 8 and up. 

 

9:00-11:00 "Bump" beginners, Age 8-12th grade (athletes will be divided by age groups)

11:15-1:15 "Set" for 4th-8th advanced (have played on a team)

1:30-4:00 "Spike" for 9th and up advanced 

 

 

Bump Camp: This camp for beginning players age 8 through 12th grade will focus on volleyball fundamentals. Players will be divided on 2 courts based on age and ability, High school age players who have not played on a competitive volleyball team previously are best suited for this camp. After evaluation, they may move up if needed.

 

Bump Camp Registration: $125 for non-HEAT members. $100 for HEAT members if registered and paid by July 3rd. $110 for HEAT members if registered after July 3rd

 

Set Camp: This camp is for athletes completing 4th-8th grade who have previously played on a team. They should have basic volleyball knowledge and be ready to learn/enhance more advanced skills (overhand serve, rotations, etc.)

 

Set Camp Registration: $125 for non-HEAT members. $100 for HEAT members if registered and paid by July 3rd. $110 for HEAT members if registered after July 3rd

 

Spike Camp: This camp is intended for players who have completed 9th grade and up who are ready for advanced play. Athletes should have previous competitive team experience, be comfortable with various rotations and fast paced play. The camp staff bring years of experience as players and coaches. 

 

Spike Camp Registration: $130 for non-HEAT members. $110 for HEAT members if registered and paid by July 3rd $120 for HEAT members if registered and and paid after July 3rd

 

 

 

 

Registration includes a camp t-shirt if registered and paid by July 3rd! You may pay online, drop payment by the Homeschool Resource Center or mail to Tampa Bay HEAT, 1011 Knowles Rd. Brandon, 33511.

 

High School Girls Varsity Coach Fernando Saavedra Bio:

Fernando Saavedra believes the positive encouragement and support for his team players will provide the unity base that all teams need to be successful as one unit. He played for the Bolivian FIVB beach professional volleyball team in 98 and for national team for 3 years from 1997-2000. He competed at the Open beach level for over 15 years. He has been coaching volleyball since 2001. He was nominated as the national winner for positive coaching alliance in 2021-22 season

 

High School JV Girls Coach Coach Alissa Jergensen

Personal:

•Grew up in Missouri

•Graduated at Utah Valley University with a Bachelors degree in Health Education

•Three amazing kids (Kate 7, Cooper 4, Braden 1)

•Married for almost 10 years to Brad, who is the boys' volleyball head coach

Experience:

•Multi-sport varsity athlete-- outside hitter in volleyball, point guard/shooting guard in basketball, ran short distance in track and played club volleyball throughout HS (2007-2011)

•Earned All-Conference and All-State honors in volleyball and track respectively

•Currently in 8th season of coaching high school volleyball:

---Varsity Assistant/JV Girls Volleyball Coach for five seasons, including being ranked top ten in the nation

---Varsity Boys Assistant Volleyball Coach for three seasons

•Coached four summer volleyball camps for athletes between the ages of 5-14 years old

•Seven years of coaching private lessons and clinics

•Owner/Area Developer of i9 Sports- Riverview, South Tampa
