There is nothing equal to the joy of performing wonderful music with other like-minded people.” – Ed Sheeran Middle & High School Choir Age 11 and up Choir provides a safe group setting for junior and senior high students to experiment with and find their own unique voice. Choir can help increase confidence and personal performance skills, as well as building a sense of community. Our theme for the semester will be FEARLESS. Rehearsals will incorporate basic music theory as well as proper breathing and vocal techniques. We will showcase a wide variety of musical styles and formats utilizing hit radio songs to include modern worship songs and Christian pop and hip hop…fun songs with an impactful message originally made popular by artists such as TobyMac, Hillsong Young & Free, Jordan Feliz, Crowder, Hawk Nelson, Elevation Worship, Johnny Diaz, and more. Registration includes a music binder with licensed music for the student to keep as their own. Wednesdays 1 pm – 2:30 pm beginning January 8th and running for 12 weeks no classes spring break week $175 earlybird / $185 regular $155 sibling earlybird / $165 regular
INSTRUCTOR BIO: Kevin Wilson has served as a Youth, Music, Worship, and Creative Arts pastor for 28 years. Kevin is currently Worship & Arts Pastor at PCCOG in Plant City, FL where he also oversees the Plant City Academy of the Arts. Kevin is also the founder of Doorkeeper Ministries, which has allowed him to travel to work with church worship teams and choirs in many states as a consultant and clinician. In addition to his long history of working with choirs of all ages, Kevin has taught voice privately for 10+ years, as well as coaching students in vocal solos, ensembles, and choirs in district, state, and national competitions. In addition, Kevin served as a private school music teacher for elementary, middle, and high school. He has a passion for helping current and future singers discover and develop their voice.
