Yearbook Club 2024-2025 School Year High school-Adults Do you enjoy taking pictures, building photo albums, learning about graphic design, or writing? Consider joining the HEAT Yearbook Club! Yearbook club looks great on college applications! Plus being part of the yearbook club allows you to be more involved in the HEAT community and is a great way to give back to our organization. You will also get more of a say as to what goes in the yearbook, so seniors especially may want to consider joining. We need photographers, writers, editors, and layout artists. No experience is necessary. Photographers will be given jobs that fit their level of experience and will be helped to improve their skills. They will also have access to editing software and instruction from a professional photographer. Layout artists will be taught composition, how to make graphics in photoshop, building pages, and working on the yearbook program. Writers will be asked to write stories for pages, get quotes, and interview HEAT members when needed. Editors will be asked to proof the book for mistakes and help keep the crew on task. Yearbook meets the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 3:15-4:15 PM beginning September 6th. Instructor Nancy Bailey Biography: Nancy is a priest’s wife and mom of seven ages 25 to 8. She has been homeschooling for almost 23 years. The first four have graduated and gone on to college and careers and she will have two high schoolers and a 4th grader in the fall. She took her first photography class through her local 4H club at the age of 10. She was on her high school yearbook team and worked as lifestyle editor and photographer for a newspaper in Waxahachie, Texas, after college and until her oldest was 10 months old. She has taught photography and other classes at local co-ops and worked as a tutor and director for Classical Conversations for three years. The Intro to Photography class is one of her favorites and she is excited to help more students learn to express themselves through the art of photography. |
