Middle School Spanish Classes 2024-2025 School Year Homeschool Resource Center 307 S. Parsons Ave. Brandon, 33511 Tuesdays from August 20th to April 29th (30 weeks) 12:00 PM-1 PM Middle School Spanish (Grades 6-8) Students will develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills useful in everyday life within the context of these five units: The Park, The Grocery Store, The Shopping Center, The Movie Theater, and The Restaurant. This class is a great introduction to Spanish that is interactive and focuses on oral conversation. It is a perfect head start to high school Spanish I as it teaches beginning grammar and verb conjugation in a low-stress, multi-sensory, fun environment. I will provide each student with a textbook on the first day of classes and vocabulary flash cards for each unit. Textbook: Spanish for You! Conversaciones (provided by instructor) Materials: 3-ring binder, 5 subject dividers, notebook paper and pencils. Teacher will provide the student textbook and all handouts (included in the price of the class). Students who are new to Spanish and returning students can learn together!*** Tuition is $370 for the course for the year (including textbook). A $70 non-refundable deposit (unless we cancel the class) will hold your spot. The balance is payable directly to the instructor. Tuition must be paid in full (or payment arrangements made with the instructor by August 1st. Instructor Bio Hi, my name is Shelley Whisenant and I have been homeschooling my 5 children for 20 years. Before kids, I started my teaching career as a Spanish teacher in public school and as I moved into my role as a homeschool mom, somewhere along the way I added teaching Math and English as a Second Language classes. I have taught all levels of math through Algebra II and all levels of Spanish through AP Spanish and Dual Enrollment in community college. I have a heart for struggling learners and make sure all of the classes I teach are accessible for all learners.
