Beginner Archery Program

If bows and arrows intrigue your kids, sign them up for an 8-week class. This class will introduce basic techniques to shoot a compound bow such as stance, anchoring position, aiming points and arm positions. The class will also address the important safety rules for the shooting range. The 8-weeks provide the building blocks to prepare your kids to advance to the competitive team.

1 class available, LIMITED DUE TO SPACE to 30 kids/class session, no experience required

Ages: 4th grade to 12th Grade

Bows and arrows provided

Classes start January 8th-February 26th; rain days will be honored.

2:30 pm to 3:20 pm.

$100 per athlete.

Note to parents: This is the only beginner classes offered in Spring 2024 school year. After completion, this class in the spring semester will most likely convert to an open extra practice for the competitive team to include beginners for State, Nationals and Worlds in April, May and June. There may be cases where your child is too small and does not have the arm span to safely draw a bow; in these cases, there are safety issues to consider, and the coaches will discuss alternative options with the parents

Competitive Archery Team

Our team competes is three divisions, Elementary, Middle School and High School. The competitive team builds strength, enjoys fun shoots, develops advanced shooting patterns and teaches your archer to focus with self-control and commitment. Our High School team is currently the Florida state champions. If you are interested in taking archery to the next level, sign them up for a 10-week plus class. The plus depends upon the advancement of the team from State (Gainesville, FL), to Nationals (Louisville, KY), to Worlds (Daytona Beach, FL). Bright Futures volunteer hours are available for high schoolers.

About National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP)

NASP® is an activity that doesn’t discriminate based on popularity, athletic skill, gender, size, or academic ability. It’s a different kind of team sport. It’s open to any student. Teams come together around one thing: Archery.

The National Archery in the Schools Program is an in-school program aimed at improving educational performance among students in grades 4th – 12th. And through it, students are learning focus, self-control, discipline, patience, and the life lessons required to be successful in the classroom and in life.
