Tampa Bay HEAT Cross Country Fall 2023 Participating in Tampa Bay HEAT’s fall cross country season is convenient for families with kids of all grade levels, 3rd thru 12th grade. (We have another running season in Jan that will include k-2nd grade) All High school, middle school, and elementary practices are scheduled at the same time and in the same place. LINK to HEAT Cross Country Google Calendar There are no tryouts for cross country, however, if you have a high schooler that is interested in running cross country in the fall, please reach out to me during the summer, Coach Laura, 813-625-1417 for some summer running workouts. 2023 Fall High School Cross Country Season: Fall Starts: HS Monday, July 31st and Ends: Nov 4th Weekly Practice Schedule Time: 7am to 8:30am Mon, Wed at Sterns Park, Tues, Thurs at Sydney Dover Horse Trails Practice Locations: Sterns Park, 3601 Stearns Park Rd, Valrico, FL 33596 Sydney Dover Horse Trails 4120 E State Rd 60, Dover, FL 33527 Submit your FHSAA paperwork by the deadline and receive a $50 discount on your season fees! Cost: $275 ($225 with paperwork discount) New athletes will need to purchase a personal jersey (around $30) FHSAA Paperwork Information: * The FHSAA paperwork is mandatory and has a strict deadline of Thursday, July 28th. There are forms to go to the county and a physical is required, so do not wait until the last minute to complete! You cannot try out for the team until paperwork has been submitted. MANDATORY FHSAA FORMS (only needed for high school level teams) *New-to-HEAT athletes complete this list: EL7 (including EL7V), EL2, EL3, GA4, EL9 with updated transcript with cumulative GPA* and age verification (attach copy of birth certificate). *Returning HEAT athletes complete this one: EL7V (page 3 of the EL7 form), EL2, EL3 and updated transcript with cumulative GPA. Winter/Spring athletes will also need EL9. *Paperwork help: There is mandatory FHSAA paperwork that must be completed to participate in high school-level sports. This must be completed and submitted before the first practice. Please see the flyer at the bottom of this email for dates and times for paperwork assistance. Elem race distance: 2k Middle school race distance 3k Aug 7th 1st day of practice and New Parent info meeting.
