This class will introduce basic techniques to shoot a compound bow such as stance, anchoring position, aiming points and arm positions. The class will also address the important safety rules for the shooting range. The 8-weeks provide the building blocks to prepare your kids to advance to the competitive team. Ages: 4th grade to 12th Grade Bows and arrows provided Classes start Sept 25th and go until Nov 13th; rain days will be honored. Time:2:30-3:30 PM. Registration is $88 per athlete. Note to parents: This may be the only two beginner classes offered in 2023-2024 school year. After completion, this class in the spring semester will most likely convert to the competitive team to include beginners for Regionals, State, Nationals and Worlds in February, March, May and June. There may be cases where your child is too small and does not have the arm span to safely draw a bow; in these cases, there are safety issues to consider, and the coaches will discuss alternative options with the parents. Also consider the summer boot camp to advance your child to the team quicker. If you take the boot camp you do not need to take the beginner class.
Our Team's Motto "Shoot Straight"; in life we make decisions, choices and actions that depend upon glorifying God! We don't become bent arrows as they never fly straight again! Due to the overwhelming response to be part of the archery program, additional time slots and classes may open up. Time slots prior to 4:30 pm are subject to move around to accommodate more kids.
