Plant City, FL 33565 dinosaurworld.com FOSSIL DIG AND BONEYARD The most popular activity at Dinosaur World is the fossil dig: an activity in which the children dig for fossils and get to find their three favorite ones to take home with them as a souvenir. You can purchase a ticket in the gift shop for $3.00. Call or email to schedule 813-717-9865, ext. 201, [email protected] The fossil dig is not an activity that is open all day. It’s a guided activity open at different times throughout the day, 15 minutes each. The cashier can help inform your group of the different times so you can plan accordingly. • Arrive 5 minutes before the scheduled fossil dig time to line up. • Children must stay in a line as they are invited into the dig and handed their sifter and cup from the attendant. • For busier digs, it’s requested that parents and teachers stand behind the children to allow enough room for all children to dig. • Children pick their 3 favorite fossils before visiting the attendant to have their fossils bagged. • Please return sifters and cups when you get your fossils bagged. For children that do not wish to participate in the fossil dig, or children too young to participate, there is a boneyard children can dig in. The boneyard is a free activity where the children can get in the sand and uncover a life-sized dinosaur. They don’t get to take anything home from this activity, but the memories are something they keep forever. Educational Materials: Your visit to the park will be self-guided. A Teacher’s Guide to Dinosaur World, showing how to incorporate basic subjects such as math, language arts, science, and others into a trip to Dinosaur World is available upon request. Food: We do not offer food services here at Dinosaur World, but we will reserve picnic tables and you are welcome to bring a picnic style meal, a snack or even order pizza. We do have soft drink vending machines. (We do not allow grills or alcoholic beverages in the park). Just a reminder, in Florida it is always a good idea to be prepared with sunscreen and mosquito repellent! Dinosaur World is conveniently located just off I-4 at Exit 17.
