Starts August 19th and runs for 12 weeks (no class Labor Day) Age 4-6 10:15-11:15 AM Age 7-10 9:00-10:00 AM Registration is $145 per student Hola! Bienvenidos a la clase de Espanol! Welcome to Spanish Class! Join me for a semester of fun! This year our 4-6-year-old students will be learning the calendar, basic greetings, shapes, numbers, letters, colors, foods, and animals in Spanish! These basics are a great starting point for their bilingual journey. We will be using the words they learn consistently & I encourage parents to practice daily with them at home so it sticks! There will be lots of coloring sheets, songs, dances, and projects that we will use as well to keep the littles engaged in the language. Toward the end of the 12 weeks, I will have the students pick a traditional Hispanic food that we learn about to bring to the class for a final "fiesta." Our 7-10-year-old students will dive into learning about Hispanic Culture & Spanish in our daily lives! This age group will be taught basic conversation words and phrases, proper greetings, body parts, family members, daily household objects, and a verb a week in Spanish. In addition, every week we will take about 15 minutes to learn briefly about a different Hispanic country and its cultural practices. Toward the end of the 12 weeks, each student will pick a country and make a poster to present to the class. I am so excited about this session and look forward to meeting all my students/parents. I am a big sister to 2 Heat students and an Aunt to my husband's 9 nieces and nephews. I just recently got married to my wonderful husband in February of 2023. I am the CEO and owner of a swim school, Aquatics 4U, local to the Riverview area, and have been building that for almost 4 years! My dad is from Panama and in my childhood, I grew up going there every year and lived there for 3 years as well. From this, I learned how to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently. I graduated from Riverview High School in 2018 and graduated with my AA Degree in Business at HCC soon after. I absolutely love working with kids and have so much passion for the homeschool community. When my husband and I have little ones we plan to homeschool as well! I have tons of teaching experience as I have been a swim teacher/coach for almost 8 years. I have taught over 300 kids through my company, I have worked with kids for 10 years, and have helped my mom teach my sisters throughout their time as homeschoolers. I strive to teach in a fun & hands-on setting. I have found that it is so important to teach children according to their learning styles and give them the freedom of creativity. Each student is unique and they all learn differently, which is why I love the smaller class settings that the Heat program has! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, swimming, spending time with family, and being in nature. I look forward to teaching your children this year and cannot wait to watch them learn & grow!
