High School Spanish Classes 2024-2025 Homeschool Resource Center 307 S. Parsons Ave. Brandon, FL 33511 Thursdays from August 22nd to May 1st (32 weeks) Spanish 1: 8:30-10:00am AND 12:15-1:45 AM Spanish 2: 10:15-11:45 PM Spanish 1: Is a beginning language student class. Students will learn the basics of the Spanish language. We will learn vocabulary, that will involve a fair amount of study and memorization and a great amount of practice: reading, listening, writing, and speaking! You will learn grammatical structure of the sentence, Nouns and adjectives and the idea of agreement, conjugation of in present, past, present participle, past participle, and future tense, and much more. Curriculum: Breaking the Spanish Barrier: Level I Spanish 2: If you have already taken a Spanish class, after a long break it is only natural that you feel a bit "rusty" in your ability to communicate in Spanish. Therefore, in Spanish 2 will spend the proper amount of time reviewing what we learned. After a refreshing review, will start adding to that knowledge more vocabulary, more grammar, and much more conversational skills! Some of the grammar will include past tense of irregular verbs, indirect object pronouns, double object pronouns, nominalization, the imperfect tense, descriptive adjective, superlative of adjective, imperfect tense, Reflexive speech. Curriculum: Breaking the Spanish Barrier: Level II Registration: HEAT members: $370/year. This is payable by a $70 non-refundable deposit to the Tampa Bay HEAT. The balance will be paid directly to the instructor before the first day of class. Class size limit is 16 students. These spaces will fill as the non-refundable deposit is received. Bermudez. Homeschool mom, has been teaching her kids to talk, write and read Spanish since preschool. Born in Venezuela, Spanish is her first language. She has been living is the US since 2003. Studied Journalism in Venezuela, which gave her more in-depth grammatical knowledge of the language. Later, earned a master’s Degree at Florida International University in Miami. During the last 8 years she has taught Spanish (private and group lessons) for elementary, middle, and high school homeschoolers.
