I’m a wife, married for twenty-two years and a mother of three children whom I’ve homeschooled for over fifteen years; our eldest graduated from Liberty University last year! I’m a life long learner with a tremendous love for reading, gardening, and sailing. I have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed having a hospitality business, hosting guests from all over the world for years. I’ve been teaching high school government & economics classes to students in homeschooling communities in Florida and California for the past two years. I grew passionate about these subjects through teaching my own children. As a Christian, my conviction is rooted in the call God has given us to steward His creation. Having a biblical understanding of man’s fallen nature and natural laws in the realm of government and economics helps us to understand how policies, legislation, and ideologies can navigate the course of a nation, of states, cities, and families. Government and economics can be quite complex, but they’re also fascinating! My desire is to journey alongside and equip this generation to understand these studies through a biblical lens and thus understand how to make decisions for themselves and their community that allow them to flourish. We’ll watch Prager-U videos, listen to thinkers like Thomas Sowell and Milton Friedman, study the branches of government and our Founding documents such as the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. There will also be an opportunity to get involved with the Young America’s Foundation organization by attending their High School Conference at the Reagan Ranch in California, as our family has participated in past years! I look forward to exploring the workings of our government and economic system; along with world geography with this year’s students!” |
