The beginner class is geared towards kids 5-11 with little or no gymnastics experience. In this class we will learn basic tumbling skills for Floor exercise, balance exercises for Beam, speed and agility drills for Vault and strength and conditioning for Bars. This class will give your child an understanding of what the sport of gymnastics is while at the same time learning skills that are challenging yet reachable. This class will help them feel confident to later develop harder and more complicated skills.
Intermediate Gymnastics Class:
Children participating in this class will learn bridge kick over, handstand bridge, round off, intro to back handspring and intro to front handspring.
In order to qualify for this class, participants must have a forward roll, backwards roll, handstand without assistance and cartwheel. They must be able to do a bridge from the ground up with ease.
The students in this class have to have enough upper body strength to support their weight on their hands easily. We will be doing some low beam skills also such as handstand and side handstand.
If you are not sure if your child qualifies for this class please feel free to email me your questions.
Bio: My name is Pamela Armel and I coached competitive gymnastics for 23 years until last year when I decided to stay home to homeschool my children. I really enjoy encouraging and teaching kids in the sport to help them build confidence and enjoy being active. The class is for beginner gymnasts between the ages 5-11. I look forward to meeting soon. [email protected]
